Former England striker Emile Heskey believes new Peterborough boss Robbie Savage will make his players “feel ten feet tall” – and has backed his old Leicester City team-mate to be a success at London Road.
It has been a difficult season for the Posh in EFL League One so far.
But Heskey is convinced Savage is the perfect fit for the London Road outfit and can quickly steer the club away from the foot of the table.
Peterborough are sitting down in 23th place on five points after eight games – they have only won once, drawing twice and losing five matches so far.
Players will respect Savage
Speaking to 10bet, Heskey said: “Sav had a great playing career – played international football, won trophies. Players respect that.
“He’s a likeable guy, very engaging, and he’ll give the players confidence and energy, drawing on what he experienced under managers like Martin O’Neill.
“He’ll rely on his coaching staff for the detailed tactics, but he’ll make the squad feel ten feet tall.
“It’s just a case of translating that energy into consistent results.
“I wish him all the best and I’m delighted that he keeps passing every managerial test that has been put in front of him.”
